On March 24, the organizers of the awards show announced that the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards will be held on May 8 at COEX Hall D in Gangnam District, Seoul, and the Italian luxury brand Gucci will be a partner for the fourth consecutive year. Marking the 60th anniversary of Korean musicals in 2026, the addition of the musical category is said to further elevate the awards into a comprehensive arts award that encompasses all components of popular culture and the arts. The overarching theme of this year’s ceremony is “The Stage”. Beyond its literal meaning, it serves as a symbolic expression encompassing television screens, film, theater, and musicals. It conveys the intention to transcend genres and boundaries and to embrace all kinds of stages. Eligible entries are content aired on terrestrial and general programming channels, cable TV, OTT platforms, and web platforms from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, as well as Korean feature films and theater and musical productions released domestically during the same period.
